What this line covers
Cosmetic organizers hold make-up, skincare, brushes, jewellery and other small items on a dressing table, a bathroom shelf or inside a drawer. They are bought for how they look as much as for what they hold, so clarity, clean edges and a smooth drawer slide decide the sale. The line includes stacked drawer units, open countertop grids with lipstick and brush slots, lidded boxes and inserts that sit inside an existing drawer.
The reference on the cut sheet is a public listing reference size, not a partner plant model: a clear drawer unit at 8-3/8x12-1/2x3-5/8 inches, about 318x213x92 mm. A countertop grid with 21 compartments measures about 295x235x140 mm. No partner reference model exists yet for this line, so the desk measures the partner plant's sample before an order is confirmed and uses that figure on the listing.
Choosing the material
Three clear plastics dominate the line, and the choice is a trade-off between clarity, toughness and cost. Each part is named by material on the cut sheet, because a frame in one plastic and drawers in another is common.
| Material | Resin code | Strengths | Watch points |
|---|---|---|---|
| PS (polystyrene, clear) | 6 | Glass-like clarity, stiff, molds sharp detail | Brittle; cracks on a corner drop; scratches |
| Acrylic (PMMA) | 7 (other) | High clarity and gloss, premium feel | Scratches; cracks if over-tightened or dropped |
| PET | 1 | Clear and tougher than PS, lighter walls | Thinner walls flex; less rigid as a frame |
| PVC (soft clear) | 3 | Flexible film for zip cases and pouches | Small-item packaging only, not a rigid organizer |
PVC has a narrow role here. Soft clear PVC cases are used as small-item packaging, such as a pouch for a travel set, and are never offered as a food container or as a rigid drawer unit. The note on cosmetic organizer materials and the comparison of acrylic and PS go further.
Clarity, scratches and cracking
Clear organizers show every flaw. Flow lines and gate marks from the mold, scuffs from cartons rubbing in transit and hairline cracks at screw bosses or drawer stops are the usual complaints. Most of these are prevented at the specification stage: gate position away from the show face, polished mold surfaces, protective film on large faces, an inner box per unit and dividers in the master carton. The note on scratches and scuffs on clear boxes lists what to ask the plant.
Drawers, dividers and fit
A drawer unit is an assembly, so tolerance matters more than on an open box. Drawers that stick, rattle or slide out too easily all trace back to the gap between drawer and frame and to warping as the parts cool. The desk checks drawer slide and stop on the sample and on each lot. Countertop grids are simpler but need slot sizes that match the products a brand sells: a lipstick slot that is too tight is a return. Removable dividers let one body serve several layouts.
Documents and compliance
Cosmetic organizers do not normally hold food, so food contact documents are not part of the standard file. The usual set is a supplier material declaration naming the resin of each part and a lot inspection report covering size, appearance, drawer function and drop. If an organizer is also marketed for kitchen use, it moves into food contact and needs the documents in the compliance guide. Any test report is issued to the partner plant or your brand per project and verified by the desk.
Private label and ordering
Brands usually change the tint or a frosted finish, add a printed or embossed logo, set the divider layout and design a gift box. A new body shape or drawer size needs a new mold, often in the Huangyan mold cluster in Taizhou. Typical starting quantities for storage lines are about 1,000-3,000 pieces per item, depending on size and mold, confirmed in writing for each program; see MOQ and lead time. Send the product list the organizer must hold and the target retail channel through the quote form.
