Who we are
Lidwell is a sourcing desk for food containers, food packaging and household storage boxes, run as a FULVERA sourcing brand. The name comes from the part of a container that decides most of its problems: the lid, and how well it closes. Our buyers are brand owners, DTC brands, marketplace sellers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, sourcing agents and foodservice groups who need containers and boxes that match the spec sheet, carry the right documents and arrive in cartons that survive the trip.
We are not a factory. Lidwell does not own a plant, a mold shop or a printing line. The desk works direct with vetted partner plants and manages each program on the buyer's behalf: choosing the material for each part, matching the plant to the process, collecting food contact documents, inspecting each lot and consolidating the shipment. The result is the same as buying direct from vetted partner plants, with one desk keeping the specification together across several plants and clusters.
The clusters we work with
Containers and boxes in China come from specialised clusters, and a single program often spans more than one. The desk works with partner plants in three of them.
| Cluster | Typical lines | Context |
|---|---|---|
| Guangdong: Huizhou Huiyang, Foshan Nanhai and the wider Pearl River Delta | PP takeout boxes, thermoformed bowls, soup cups, divided trays, starch-PP blend ware | Partner plants for takeout and thermoformed PP |
| Zhejiang: Taizhou (Huangyan, Luqiao) and Ningbo (Yuyao) | Storage boxes, fridge bins, vacuum containers, organizers, molds | Taizhou counted more than 12,000 plastics producers in 2018; Yuyao hosts China Plastics City |
| Zhejiang: Longgang, Wenzhou | Kraft and white card boxes, bakery boxes with windows, printed sleeves | China's printing town; printing and packaging output of about 20 billion yuan (Xinhua, 2024) |
The Taizhou figure is from China Trade Remedies Information reporting in 2019; Huangyan in Taizhou is also known as a mold-making centre. The cluster logic is simple: PP takeout ware and thermoformed parts are strongest in Guangdong, storage boxes and food storage sets in Taizhou and Ningbo, and paper and gift boxes in Longgang. See industry clusters for the detail.
Where we are
The desk operates from an office in Yongjia County, Wenzhou, Zhejiang: Room 1304, Building 16, Yuehua Garden, Yalin Future Community, Huangtian Street. This is an operating office, not a production site. Nothing is made there; it is where specifications are written, samples are compared and program files are kept. Wenzhou is also the prefecture-level city that includes Longgang, which keeps the printing cluster within easy reach.
How the desk works
- Brief: the buyer sends the lines, foods or items, destination market and target quantities through the quote form.
- Material match: the desk names the material of every part, base, lid and insert, against hot, cold or dry use.
- Shortlist: partner plants are matched by process and cluster, with real reference sizes and gram weights.
- Samples: stock samples or printed samples are compared against the brief and measured.
- Documents: supplier declarations and third-party test reports are requested for the destination market and verified.
- Order and inspection: quantities, lead times and the test plan are confirmed in writing; each lot is checked before it ships.
- Shipping: goods from several plants are consolidated into one FCL or LCL shipment.
Each program keeps one file: the specification, sample measurements, documents, inspection results and packing data. Repeat orders start from that file rather than from a new quote. The factory audit and quality control pages explain the checks in detail.
Material honesty
Most container problems start with the wrong material, so the desk names it for every part. Hot food and reheating call for PP; cold display and fruit call for clear PET; PVC belongs only in non-heated packaging and storage, such as clear folding boxes and gift box windows, and is never used for a food container. Starch-based ware is described as starch blended with PP. Biodegradable or compostable wording is used only where a named certification such as EN 13432 or ASTM D6400 applies, in line with the FTC Green Guides. The material guide sets this out line by line.
What we do not do
- We do not call ourselves a factory or claim a plant we do not own.
- We do not hold food contact certificates ourselves; declarations and reports are issued to partner plants or to your brand per project and verified by the desk.
- We do not publish prices; quotations are made per program.
- We do not copy third-party designs, logos or protected product shapes.
- We do not give legal conclusions on compliance or tariffs; confirm with your test lab, customs broker or counsel.
- We do not treat MOQ or lead time as fixed until they are confirmed in writing for each program; see MOQ and lead time.
